The Galician Operational Group Funtrapa, in which we participate, will hold an online webinar next Thursday, October 26th at 10 am. The day will consist of presenting the innovation project, progress and results so far, where representatives of the participating entities will give context of the work they are doing to meet the proposed objectives.
The Galician Operational Group Funtrapa was created in 2022 with the aim of reducing the use of pesticides in swine and laying hens, favoring the maintenance and transition of livestock farms to pastoral regimes. For this purpose, we intend to use saprophytic fungi with proven antagonistic action against certain parasites, isolated from soil and animal feces in Galicia, as a biological control method to reduce the risk of infection. This project seeks to provide the livestock sector with the opportunity to develop a novel strategy to help alleviate a problem that hinders the development of pastoral regimes, contributing to the correct development of the youngest animals.
As part of the project’s dissemination activities, this free online webinar is organized to inform the different agents of the sector and the general public about the objectives and activities being developed in the innovation project. In addition, each of the entities participating in the Galician Operational Group Funtrapa will comment on the role they are playing in the project, as well as the positive impact it will have on the livestock sector.
The webinar will feature presentations by representatives of the four Galician entities that make up the project, in which we participate together with Pazo de Vilane, the Prodeme Association, and the University of Santiago de Compostela.
