On May 10, 11 and 12, a new consortium meeting of TransformAr, a project in which we participate, will be held, ‘Driving transformative adaptation in Europe: innovative solutions linked to water’, an innovation action funded through the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program, will take place.
Galicia is one of six demonstrators that make up TransformAr, a consortium of 22 partners from 11 countries. All share water-based ecosystems, and all face the threat of climate change.
At the same time, Galicia will be a pioneer in testing solutions for the mussel farming and shellfish farming sectors, through a case study coordinated by CETMAR with the participation of the University of Vigo (UVigo), as well as experts from the Institut of Marine Research (IIM-CSIC). The Social Behavior and Applied Psychometry Group (COSOYPA) of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) is also involved in the project.
The three-day meeting includes field work, with visits to the shellfishing areas and rafts in the Ría de Arousa.
Organized jointly with the Centro Tecnológico del Mar (CETMAR), we coordinated the working group for the creation of innovation ecosystems in the demonstrators, in addition to being in charge of the exploitation of project results.
