FEUGA presents the training catalog for the EDIH DATAlife project

16/07/2024

FEUGA has developed the training catalog that will be implemented during 2024 and 2025 to promote the adoption of disruptive technologies in certain strategic sectors of the Galician ecosystem, within the framework of the EDIH DATAlife project. This is the result of extensive research into training needs and existing offerings in the agro-sea-food, biotechnology, forestry-wood, and health-care sectors.

The catalog, which includes a series of trainings fully funded by the EDIH DATAlife project, aims to facilitate access to knowledge in technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), Cybersecurity, and High-Performance Computing (HPC). Thus, it will enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the Galician business sector, especially SMEs, promoting the creation of a fairer, greener, and healthier economy in our region.

The public presentation of the training catalog took place at the project’s second annual event, held on June 27 at the FEUGA building in Santiago de Compostela, bringing together the entire consortium, interested companies, and institutional representatives. Previously, the proposal had been validated in various working groups attended by SMEs and agents from each sector.

Its development is the result of a collaborative effort, involving clusters linked to the analyzed sectors as sectoral drivers, universities, and technological centers as training providers, and FEUGA and DIH DATAlife as activity coordinators. Thanks to this collaboration, we have conducted a rigorous analysis of the unmet training needs in each sector for technological implementation and addressed those needs by proposing free trainings that fill the identified gaps. This approach ensures that the proposed trainings adequately respond to current market demands and the required technological capabilities.

The EDIH DATAlife project, funded by the Digital Europe program, aims to position Galicia as a European benchmark in bioresources, sustainability, and health. FEUGA leads Work Package 5 on digital skills and training and is committed to enhancing the technological competencies of Galician professionals.

You can consult all the trainings and the catalog on the project’s website. Although some activities have already taken place in the first half of 2024, most will take place starting in September of this year and will be free of charge for attendees, who must register on the EDIH website as registrations for the various trainings open. These trainings will expand beyond the current proposals as new needs are identified. You can also stay updated by following the project on social media such as X and LinkedIn.
